Around Pokhara
January 31st, 2012
There are so many things to see and do around Pokhara that it is often impossible to prioritise. This is often the problem with photographic courses arranged in the UK for Nepal – too much to do that in the end it can be disappointing. The advantage of living here permanently, is that it is easy to select the best parts (often away from the tourists) at appropriate times of the year.
This weekend I was down at the far north-eastern part of Lakeside at a place called Maya Devi where there are birds to be found!
This vulture looks like it needs some serious styling advice! It’s nice to use f2.8 and concentrate as much on the background as the subject!
This bird is very common in these parts and actually really big! If your interest is photographing raptors, there are so many to choose from!
Finally, as I was coming back to home-sweet-home, I grabbed a quick image of the old brass badges on the front gate…a project for the future perhaps?
